Hauskaa (inspired by the word ‘hauska’, which means fun in Finnish) is a Mexican company founded by Bianca Mrochen & Sylvia Franz that aims to curate a portfolio of rugs, textiles, lighting and home-ware from around the world, with a particular emphasis on Scandinavian design.  Their unique aesthetic is one that blends modern design with pieces that proudly carry the weight of their cultural and historical significance.

Everything started with their love of design, travelling, and culture.  Visiting museums around the world impressed upon them the importance and growing relevance of Scandinavian design and it inspired them to take their first trip to Sweden, Finland and Denmark, hoping to understand the cultural context in which that design aesthetic arose. Countless pieces stood out and altogether fascinated them that if they could bring them all back to Mexico they would have, but they could squeeze only so much into two suitcases. It was then and there they first discovered the underlying purpose of their current business -to import and export beautiful pieces from around the world–pieces that represent the very best in modern design- at affordable prices.

Just as they are influenced by modern design as it is found around the world, as Mexicans they are equally as passionate about their native traditions, art, and colors.  It is an honor for them to be able to export Mexican décor to other countries.
